Assistant Director of Care - RPN

Full Time

This exciting role allows us to continue to provide excellent customer service to our residents as well as to assist the Director of Care with continued success in meeting the requirements for the RHA legislation.  This role will be scheduled two weekends a month; approx 72 hours bi-weekly.  You will be required to have flexibility to fill in evening and overnight shifts as required. 

 On a regular basis, you will assist the Director of Care:

  • Complete Resident Care Plans 
  • Complete Assessment requirements for Falls Prevention Program, medication administration, heat risk and behavioral management 
  • Participate in Care Conferences and be part of the Multidisciplinary team 
  • Conduct health education to staff and residents
  • Provide personal care and administer medications as required- assist and fill in for PSW/UCP as required 
  • Participate and facilitate committee meetings in the absence of the DOC 
  • Administrative and Clerical tasks 
  • Assist house physician when required 
  • Provide customer service and respond to resident concerns and needs 
  • Participate in Emergency / Fire training

 Job Requirements

  • Current Registration and In good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario 
  • Current CPR and First Aide 
  • Supervisory/ leadership skills 
  • Medication Administration Skills using EMar system 
  • Point of Care experience 
  • Knowledge of Point Click Care 
  • Experience in Retirement Home setting 
  • Knowledgeable of the RHA and The RHRA Legislation 
  • Computer skills, spread sheets, email & word documents 
  • Excellent Customer Service skills. You will posses a can-do attitude and promote a positive work environment for entire team 
  • Excellent Time Management Skills
