Assistant Activity Director - Part Time

Summary

We are searching for an energetic, experienced program and volunteer coordinator for this part time management role which reports directly to the Activity Director. You will be responsible for developing creative, innovative and meaningful recreation programs to suit our residents' needs. It is also imperative to work closely with all team members and volunteers to develop and coach to create a cohesive approach to running successful recreational programs.

 

Key Qualifications:
•Post-Secondary education program relating to recreation, gerontology, social work or proven related experience an asset
•Experience in memory care programming an asset
•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, and office equipment (phone systems, computer, fax, copiers, excel, publisher, database management.
•Required to provide Police Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire
•Ability to make decisions that respect the resident choice and follow polices and procedures to creatively problem solve.
•Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to co-ordinate and plan
•Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English
•Demonstration of a caring and compassionate attitude while working with team members, residents and external community partners
•Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends and scheduled manager on duty shifts.
